The Muslim Consumer Rights Council organized a rally on Tuesday, calling for a boycott of hotels that do not serve beef. The rally took place in front of Al-Razzaq Hotel in Bangshal, Old Dhaka, under the slogan “No-beef hotels are agents of India and Hindutva, so boycott such hotels.” At the rally, speakers demanded that beef be made a mandatory item on every hotel’s menu, threatening to shut down any hotel that does not comply. Arif Al Khabir, the organization's leader, stated, “Hotels must serve beef to do business in Bangladesh. If a hotel does not offer any beef dishes, it will be considered an agent of Hindutva and India. Such hotels will be boycotted nationwide.” The rally was attended by over a hundred people, including organizing secretary Gazi Usman Ayubi, Md. Sadman, and others.
