Quran Hafiz Md. Takrim Sheikh (20) was electrocuted in Fakirhat, Bagerhat, at his home around 5 pm on Monday (February 17).
Takrim, a resident of Ward No. 9 in Lakhpur Union, was the son of Madrasa teacher Maulana Moslem Uddin Sheikh. He was a class 10 student at Bhabna Dalikh Madrasa and had received a turban for memorizing 30 verses of the Quran from Mahal Hafiziya Madrasa in Khulna.
According to the family, Takrim was fixing the house's electrical lines around 4 pm when he was shocked and fell to the ground. His family rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, but the doctor declared him dead. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
Fakirhat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge SM Alamgir Hossain confirmed the incident, stating that police had inspected the scene after hearing about his death while working on the electricity at the house.
