Policeman Loses Car Keys While Trying to Catch Thief in Kurigram

Police faced an embarrassing situation in Roumari, Kurigram, while attempting to arrest suspects in a theft case, when they lost the keys to their pickup van. The incident occurred in Harindhara Purbapara village of Dantabhanga Union, where officers had gone to detain five family members accused of stealing from the home of expatriate Zahirul Islam. However, as they prepared to take the suspects to the station, the driver realized the car keys were missing—believed to have been taken by a local. After a lengthy search, the keys were found in a nearby water body. Roumari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Selim Malik said the keys may have dropped during a minor scuffle while arresting the suspects, and an investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, a case has been filed against the accused on behalf of the expatriate family.
