RAB has recovered 170,000 yaba tablets from a house in the Chhoto Habibpara area of Teknaf Sadar, Cox's Bazar, arresting three family members in the operation. Although the seizure took place early Monday morning, RAB revealed the information around 11 p.m. via a text message.
The arrested are Shaminar Begum (46), wife of Md. Ekram; her son Md. Abdur Rahim (30); and daughter-in-law Ismat Ara (24). During the raid, another man, Md. Hasan (24), managed to escape.
RAB said they acted on a secret tip that a large consignment of yaba tablets intended for trafficking was hidden in the house. Initially, only a few thousand tablets were recovered, which raised suspicion. Later, two trained dogs were brought in to conduct a thorough search, leading to the discovery of over 100,000 additional tablets hidden in various parts of the house.
