Two members of 'Students for Sovereignty' detained during a protest over removing the term 'Indigenous' from textbooks are not injured, according to the police.
The protest, held on Wednesday by 'Aggrieved Indigenous Students and Public,' took place outside the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) building in Motijheel. During the demonstration, an attack reportedly occurred.
Following the incident, police detained two individuals, Arif Al Khabir and Md Abbas. Although the detainees allegedly claimed injuries with their heads bandaged, OC Mezbah Uddin told The Daily Star, "We detained them last night, but no injuries or bandages were observed."
He also mentioned that preparations are ongoing to file a case regarding the matter.
