Police Constable Riyad Gets President's Medal for Handling Shahbagh Protest Peacefully

Police Constable Riyad Hossain has been awarded the President's Police Medal (PPM) for his exemplary handling of protesters without using force. The Home Ministry issued a notification on March 27, confirming this honor on Sunday. Riyad received the 'President's Police Medal (PPM-Service)' in recognition of his innovative approach to maintaining public order while respecting citizens. Unlike previous years when the medals were awarded during Police Week, Riyad’s award was announced separately. On February 14, Riyad gained attention for dispersing protesters peacefully at the Secretariat, using a unique method that involved avoiding force. A video of the incident went viral, earning him widespread praise.
