Mohammadpur Police have arrested nine active members of the juvenile gang known as ‘Lou Thela’ from different locations under the jurisdiction of Mohammadpur Police Station. The arrests took place during an operation conducted on May 13 at Makeup Khan Road in Rayar Bazar, Mohammadpur.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Md. Jobayer (22), Md. Hasan (19), Md. Raihan (27), Md. Wasim (25), Md. Anwar Hossain Raju (32), Md. Nurul Amin (18), Md. Kamal Hossain (22), Md. Shahin (28), and Md. Mehedi Hasan (25).
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered five machetes and four sharp knives from the possession of the accused. According to police sources, the gang members had assembled in the area with the intent of showcasing their strength and spreading fear among locals. Their goal was to assert dominance in the neighborhood and carry out criminal activities.
Following their arrest, a case has been filed against them at Mohammadpur Police Station. Initial investigations suggest that the gang was actively involved in robbery and had been using these weapons to instill fear in the Mohammadpur area and its surrounding neighborhoods. The arrested individuals have since been presented before the court.
