Religious advisor Maulana Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain announced that the interim government is working to facilitate affordable Hajj pilgrimages for Bangladeshis. He highlighted past practices of traveling by ship and revealed discussions with the Saudi government and ship company owners to revive this method. Dr. Hossain mentioned plans to experiment with sending pilgrims by ship this year, aiming to provide economical travel options. He intends to introduce two Hajj packages: one near Kaaba Sharif and Madina Sharif and another slightly farther. He acknowledged high costs with Bangladesh Biman and is negotiating for lower fares. On the Qaumi Madrasa charter, he stated that MA status allows graduates to use their credentials across various sectors. Additionally, he confirmed that preparations for Durga Puja are complete, with an allocation of four crore rupees for temples and mandaps, following discussions on law and order.
