Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain emphasized the need for reforms, stating that the July uprising was not just about elections but aimed at toppling the "fascist" Awami League government and dismantling its system. Speaking in Thakurgaon during a winter clothing distribution event, Asif, a key figure in the movement, highlighted that over 2,000 lives were lost and 20,000 injured in the uprising. He stressed the importance of reforms, with proposals from reform commissions expected soon, and assured that elections would follow these actions. The interim government is focused on development, especially in neglected northern districts, and aims to implement long-term projects. Addressing concerns about insufficient support for injured victims, Asif promised action through discussions with the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation. Several local officials, including Thakurgaon’s acting deputy commissioner, were present at the event.
