Former Dhaka-7 MP Solaiman Selim appeared in court for a hearing on a seven-day remand application in the murder case of Jubo Dal leader Shamim. While being escorted, he remarked, "People are praying for Sheikh Hasina's return. Bangabandhu is not dead." Earlier, at 9:20 am, as he was taken to the courtroom, he stated, "People are eating first; Sheikh Hasina will come again." The hearing was held in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharifur Rahman's court, where a remand application was also submitted for former minister Kamrul Islam. The court granted four days of remand for both, followed by jail custody.
