A 55-year-old patient, Mosharraf Hossain, died allegedly due to medical negligence at Green Life Hospital in Dhaka after undergoing open-heart surgery. Relatives claim the surgery was conducted by assistants, as the assigned doctor, Dr. AKM Manjurul Alam, was absent during the procedure. They allege that the doctor arrived an hour and a half later, by which time critical steps had already been undertaken. Following Mosharraf's death, the hospital reportedly attempted to conceal the matter, issuing handwritten bills and offering financial compensation to the family, including ambulance costs and promises of future support. The hospital’s director stated he could not confirm what transpired in the operation theater. Police are prepared to take action if an official complaint is filed. Meanwhile, the accused doctor has stepped down from his position.
