A large piece of plaster fell from the ceiling of Room 204 at Dhaka University’s Haji Mohammad Mohsin Hall onto a student’s head while he was asleep late at night, causing an injury. The incident occurred around 1:05 AM on Tuesday, January 6.
The student, Masud, a resident of Room 204, sustained two head injuries, one of which was deep. Another student from the same room, Farhad Jobayer, shared in a video, “It’s now 1:20 AM. When I moved into the room two months ago, I noticed the plaster was missing. I reported it to the hall administration but got no response. I then called a worker to reinstall the plaster. However, today, while Masud Bhai was sleeping with the mosquito net up, a large piece of plaster suddenly fell on his head, causing two injuries. He may need stitches when taken to the medical center in the morning.”
He added, “If Masud hadn’t set up the mosquito net, the injury could have been worse, leading to a more serious accident. I don’t know when the administration will address this issue.”
