On Tuesday, October 22, at the Foreign Service Academy, Apurba Jahangir, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser of the interim government, unveiled new tourism regulations for St. Martin's Island. From December to January, only 2,000 tourists per day will be allowed to visit the island. While visitors will be welcome in November, overnight stays will be prohibited. Furthermore, the island will be closed to tourists in February to allow for essential cleaning and maintenance work. These steps aim to protect the island's delicate ecosystem, as it is a coral island.
