Every year, abandoned newborns are discovered in drains, dustbins, and along roadsides across Bangladesh, often struggling to survive. Since 2016, the Dr Mozib Newborn Foundation has rescued 75 abandoned babies, providing urgent medical treatment before placing surviving children with carefully screened families through a thorough legal adoption process.
Founded by neonatologist Dr Mozibur Rahman, the foundation also safeguards each child's identity to help secure their future. Although nine babies have died from severe injuries, many others have gone on to build happy lives with loving families in Bangladesh and overseas. The organisation continues to urge parents facing difficult circumstances to seek support rather than abandon their newborns.
