The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has instructed all schools in Delhi to identify children of undocumented Bangladeshi immigrants. Schools have also been directed to thoroughly verify identity documents during the admission process. An official order issued on Wednesday (18 December) mentioned that a virtual meeting between the Delhi government and the MCD took place on 12 December. During the meeting, it was decided to identify undocumented Bangladeshi immigrants and avoid issuing any certificates to them. Furthermore, India's public health department has been directed not to issue birth certificates to any undocumented immigrants from Bangladesh. Relevant departments have been urged to implement effective measures to enforce this directive.
