According to information obtained by Manab Zamin, Obaidul Quader stayed in the country for three months and five days following the mass uprising, reportedly in a safe condition. Like the party president, he also attempted to seek refuge in India. However, despite efforts to contact the party president, he received no response. Sources indicate that the party president was deeply displeased with Obaidul Quader’s comments regarding the anti-discrimination movement. His statement that “Chhatra League alone is enough to suppress the student movement” is believed to have intensified the protests, ultimately contributing to the collapse of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Manab Zamin has learned that on November 8, Obaidul Quader traveled to Kolkata, India, via Shillong. Reports suggest he stayed comfortably at a designated location while organizing his exit from the country. With a green signal, he first reached Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, through special arrangements and then proceeded to Kolkata. It has been confirmed that he will remain in Kolkata instead of moving to Delhi. Although some individuals lobbied the Indian government on his behalf, Sheikh Hasina showed no interest in extending her support. In the final days of the Awami League government, Obaidul Quader, the party's General Secretary, fell notably silent. Allegedly, the party president instructed him to refrain from making public statements due to his controversial remarks. During this time, other party leaders spoke to the media. After the government’s fall, while several leaders in hiding issued statements through various platforms, no official statement came from the party’s General Secretary.
