North South University (NSU) authorities have declared a lifetime ban on student Apurba Pal and announced that legal action will be taken against him following accusations of desecrating the Holy Qur’an on campus. This decision comes in response to widespread outrage among both students and the general public, with protests continuing on the NSU premises today (Sunday).
Earlier in the day, the student was detained and subsequently hospitalized after being attacked by angry students and local residents in the Bashundhara residential area on Sunday morning. Police have confirmed that legal proceedings are ongoing, while university officials have urged students to remain calm and avoid any further disturbances on campus.
