The display was led by parliamentary speaker Masud Gharahkhani, who used his gavel to set the rowing rhythm as politicians moved in unison to show support for the national team.
Inspired by the rowing motions of Viking longships, the fan-favorite celebration has grown beyond football stadiums and become a symbol of national pride. Norway has embraced the Viking theme throughout its World Cup campaign, including a pre-tournament photoshoot called “The Vikings Are Coming.”
The parliamentary performance followed Norway’s impressive 4-1 win over Iraq in their opening Group I match, with the team now preparing for its next challenge against Senegal.
