An unidentified healthy baby girl, rescued from a garden in Phultala Upazila, Khulna, has drawn overwhelming interest from the public—over 50 women have already applied to adopt her. All applicants have pledged to raise her with a mother’s love and care.
The baby was found on Sunday and taken to the hospital. Her photo quickly went viral on social media, prompting many to visit the hospital, expressing their desire to adopt. To manage the growing interest, officials directed them to apply through the Khulna District Child Welfare Board.
According to the Khulna District Social Services Office, they’ve begun inspecting the applicants’ homes to assess their family environment, financial situation, and intentions. A final decision on the adoption will be made at the board meeting scheduled for August 3.
