Captain Priya Adhikari, Nepal’s first female helicopter captain, has carried out nearly 100 rescue missions in just six days as devastating floods and landslides hit northern Nepal. Her operations have focused on reaching isolated communities, many of which could only be accessed by helicopter.
The missions involved rescuing stranded survivors and recovering bodies from disaster-affected areas. Adhikari’s extensive experience flying at high altitudes has played a vital role in the emergency response, as rescue teams continue to operate in challenging conditions to reach those affected.
