Two individuals were arrested for selling and hoarding textbooks that were intended for free distribution to primary and secondary school students. The operation also resulted in the seizure of two truckloads of books.
On Wednesday, January 22, the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police carried out the operation in the capital, leading to the arrests and the recovery of the textbooks.
This information was shared by DC Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media and Public Relations Division.
Earlier, on Saturday, January 18, another operation was conducted in Banglabazar, Dhaka, in response to allegations of selling textbooks meant for free distribution to students. During this operation, 5,000 books were seized.
