In Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, workers at tea gardens owned by the National Tea Company (NTC) have been working regularly but have not received their wages. Following the fall of the Awami League government, these state-owned tea garden workers were paid for only two weeks. They have been struggling without wages for nearly a month and a half, with many households running out of food. The management has cited the dissolution of the company's board after the government’s collapse as the reason for the delay but assured that wages will be paid before the Puja. Sobita Bauri, a worker at Patrakhola Tea Garden, shared her hardship: "We have no food at home. Since the government fell, we've only been paid for two weeks. We barely get by on the weekly wages, and now with no money, my family and I are starving. Life is really hard, and we can't even buy on credit from local shops anymore. If this goes on, we might starve to death."
