Nahid Islam, Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the interim government, has announced plans to establish a national day, with August 5 being given priority. He made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon at the Secretariat during discussions about the cancellation of eight existing national days. Nahid stated, “A national day may be introduced to commemorate the July uprising. For now, August 5 is being prioritized for the establishment of a national day.” He further mentioned, “Many decisions need to be made for the new Bangladesh. Bureaucracy cannot be completely abolished at will. The administration is being reorganized, and anyone can face allegations, which is why the government is conducting thorough investigations. The interim government’s goal is to prioritize all voices, working with public support.”
