Nasiruddin Patwari, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the 10-party alliance candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, issued a sharp warning aimed at BNP-nominated candidate Mirza Abbas during an election campaign rally on Saturday ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

“We do not want to oppose you, but if you provoke Nasiruddin, you will be exposed,” he said in a fiery speech, adding that they had previously driven Sheikh Hasina out of the country. “Never try to play games with me,” he warned.

Patwari alleged that his rivals were moving around with hockey sticks and batons, claiming such items had even disappeared from Gulistan due to heavy buying. “Come, let the game begin. Let’s see how far you can go,” he said, asserting that even if people were killed, many more would rise and Dhaka-8 would not be surrendered.

Addressing the BNP, he said many of its supporters had been persecuted in Bangladesh, yet their leaders never spoke up for them. He accused the party of nominating loan defaulters and dual citizens from abroad, warning that the suffering of grassroots activists would eventually turn against them.

Rejecting claims that he only spreads negativity, Patwari said his positive message was the removal of extortionists, corruption, and terrorism. “We want to eliminate criminals so that no more people like Osman Hadi are martyred because of violence,” he added.
