Actress Shabnam Faria has expressed frustration over her own constituency ahead of the upcoming 13th national election. Sharing her concerns about the voting-day environment, she voiced her views clearly on social media.
On Tuesday (27 January), Faria took to her verified Facebook account to express her disappointment at being a voter in Dhaka-8. She first wrote jokingly that she has no problem with Shantinagar’s 24/7 traffic jams or with someone in her area sleeping on a pillow printed with actor Zayed Khan’s photo.
She then added that her only regret is that Shantinagar falls under the Dhaka-8 constituency—and that she is a voter there.
Many netizens agreed with her remarks, saying that beneath the humour she highlighted the area’s political reality and growing concerns over election-related tensions and possible violence.
Dhaka-8, comprising Motijheel, Shahbagh, Ramna, Paltan and Shahjahanpur police stations, is seeing a three-way contest among BNP’s Mirza Abbas, NCP’s Nasiruddin Patwari and model Meghna Alam.
