For the first time, 'Muhammad' has claimed the top spot as the most popular boy's name in the UK. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has released the 2023 list of children's names, which was featured in a BBC report. In this list, 'Muhammad' has overtaken the previous leading name, 'Noah,' which has now fallen to second place, with 'Oliver' in third. For girls, 'Olivia' remains the most popular name for the eighth consecutive year, followed by 'Amelia' in second and 'Isla' in third. The ONS conducts an annual survey on children's names and publishes the most and least popular ones. According to the 2023 report, 4,661 babies in England and Wales were named Muhammad, an increase of 484 compared to 2022. In the same period, 4,382 babies were named Noah, showing a decline from the previous year.
