MP Builds New Home for 71 y/o Woman Who Donated Her Tk 70 Begging Savings to His Election Campaign

A 71-year-old woman who donated Tk 70 from her begging earnings to independent candidate Salman Omar Rubel’s election campaign has been rewarded with a new home. After being elected MP for the Mymensingh-1 constituency, Rubel used his first month's parliamentary salary to build a house for Rina Snal, a widowed woman who had been living alone in a run-down home in Namchapara village of Haluaghat, Mymensingh. The newly built house was officially handed over to her on July 4.
