Over 300 people from Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, were lured by promises of interest-free loans ranging from one lakh to one crore rupees to attend a rally in Dhaka. The group was organized by a gang called 'Ahins Andolan Bangladesh,' who collected Rs 1,000 from each participant in exchange for a loan application and attendance token. The rally was meant to be held at Shahbagh or Suhrawardy Udyan on November 25, but locals intervened and informed the authorities. Police and army seized 3 buses and 4 microbuses, arresting 11 individuals. The gang claimed the money for loans would come from funds recovered by Muhammad Yunus. The police confirmed that the main organizers are based in Dhaka, and no permission had been granted for the rally. The incident is linked to a larger anti-corruption protest organized by a group called 'Nonviolent Mass Upheaval Bangladesh.'
