The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) successfully rescued a 10-year-old girl, Moni, from Shahjahanpur, Dhaka, after her brother, Ramel Hawladar from Chittagong, contacted the national emergency helpline 999 to report her missing for nearly a month. Although Ramel was uncertain of Moni's exact location, he provided a contact number that led police to the home of Zebun Nesa Dolly, a school director. Dolly explained that Moni had been brought to her residence around six weeks prior by a woman named Jharna, who arranged for Moni to work there with the consent of her grandmother and maternal uncle. Moni reported no mistreatment, and Dolly expressed regret for hiring a minor, vowing to avoid child labor going forward. Since Ramel and Moni’s maternal uncle, Rashed Uddin, did not file an official complaint, the police returned Moni to their custody.
