In a historic first for Palestine at the Miss Universe pageant, Nadeen Ayoub showcased her national costume during the preliminary rounds in Bangkok, Thailand. This year’s 74th Miss Universe marks Palestine’s debut on the global stage.
Ayoub, a 26-year-old based in Dubai, used the platform to celebrate her cultural identity through a costume rich in tradition and symbolism.
Designed by Palestinian couturier Neveen El Kady from Dubai, the outfit features a flowing white gown decorated with detailed tatreez embroidery—traditional Palestinian cross-stitch that reflects stories of regional heritage.
The highlight of the ensemble is a striking hand-painted cape portraying Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, adding powerful cultural and spiritual meaning to her presentation.
