Tanjila Akter, a 21-year-old from West Rampura, Dhaka, has faced immense challenges since a gas cylinder explosion ten years ago that caused severe burns and claimed her niece's life. Despite losing her right leg to the injuries, she has demonstrated incredible perseverance, achieving a GPA of 4 in her Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams at Gulshan Commerce College. Tanjila overcame financial difficulties, even borrowing money to cover her college fees. During the student protests in July-August, she actively participated and later helped manage traffic when police were unavailable. Living with her mother and older brother, Tanjila's family has struggled since her father's departure three years ago. Nonetheless, she remains determined to continue her education and support her family. Additionally, she participates in amputee football training, which has helped her build confidence and empowerment. Tanjila's dedication to her studies and family highlights her resilience and determination, proving that the life-changing explosion did not derail her dreams and aspirations.
