Masum Billah Majumdar, 33, from Kankapait village, Comilla, quit his job in 2021 to become an entrepreneur and start a fogger machine manufacturing factory. Inspired by the mosquito problem in his rented house, Masum, an engineering graduate, developed a low-cost, durable fogger machine. After two years of trial and error, he succeeded in creating a machine that can spray a large area using chemicals and butane gas. He set up his factory, 'MHI Ultra Power Mini Fogger Machine Factory,' and has sold around 250 units. Masum plans to expand his business and employ local youth. His machine, priced at 6,500 taka, is more affordable than imported alternatives. He aims for BUET testing and national distribution soon. Local leaders support his entrepreneurial efforts.
