The World Health Organization has officially recognized Medina as a ‘Healthy City’ after it met 80 key health and infrastructure standards. The city, home to the Prophet’s Mosque, received the honor in a ceremony attended by Medina Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan and Health Minister Fahd Al Jalal. This recognition highlights Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 efforts to enhance urban living. Medina now ranks as the second healthiest city in the Middle East after Jeddah. WHO has also recognized 14 other Saudi cities, including Taif, Tabuk, and Ad-Diriyah, for meeting similar health criteria.
