A biographical film titled *Bhasani*, based on the life of legendary Bangladeshi political leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, popularly known as Maulana Bhasani, is set to grace the big screen. The film will be directed by Syed Ohiduzzaman Diamond, who recently announced that shooting is tentatively slated to begin on May 16 next year. The date commemorates Maulana Bhasani's historic march towards the Farakka Barrage in 1976. Currently, the film is in its pre-production phase. “Maulana Bhasani was a towering political figure in this region, starting from the British colonial era. However, many of his achievements and contributions are still unknown to the younger generation. That’s what inspired me to make this film,” shared Diamond. The story will chronicle Bhasani's life from the age of 13, with three different actors portraying him at various stages. Although the casting process is ongoing and no actors have been finalized, auditions will soon be held to discover fresh talent. “Once the cast is confirmed, we will make an official announcement,” said the director. Diamond also expressed optimism that this project, a dream he has nurtured since 2006, will finally come to fruition.
