The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination under 11 education boards were published today (Thursday). Many young athletes from Bangladesh appeared in the exam across different boards, with several emerging players from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) achieving impressive results.
Among the cricketers who won the Youth Asia Cup, pacer Maruf Mridha secured a GPA of 4.25, while leg-spinner Wasi Siddiqui achieved GPA-4. Another talented pacer, Rohantdaula Barshan, also passed with good results, though he did not disclose his exact scores. All three young cricketers are on the BCB’s radar, with Wasi and Maruf associated with HP, and Barshan working on a comeback after an injury.
On the women’s side, pacer Marufa Akhter from the Bangladesh Sports Education Institute (BKSP) failed in geography. Out of 159 students from BKSP who took the HSC, 147 passed, resulting in a 92.45% pass rate. Six students achieved GPA-5. While BKSP has secondary-level education in multiple regions, higher secondary is only offered at the Savar campus.
