People were seen waiting in long queues for hours at different filling stations across the capital. A man named Rifat Khan, exhausted after standing for nearly 16 hours in front of the Sumatra filling station in Kalshi, Mirpur, briefly fell asleep on the road while waiting. He spent the night in hardship under intense heat and mosquito bites.
Similar scenes were observed in many parts of the city, including Bijoy Sarani, Asad Gate, Paribagh, and Tejgaon, where hundreds of vehicles remained lined up throughout the night. Although fuel sales were halted at several stations, a few were selling in limited amounts at the revised price.
Despite the long wait, people remained uncertain and anxious about when fuel would be available or whether supply would be sufficient.
