Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 8 kg 398 grams of ambergris, commonly known as whale vomit, in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. The confiscated ambergris is valued at Tk 21 crore. During the operation, a 35-year-old smuggler named Shamsul Alam was arrested, as confirmed by Teknaf Battalion (2nd BGB) captain Lt. Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed. Lt. Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed stated that based on secret information, a raid was conducted in the Bazarpara area of Shahparir Dwip on Sunday evening. The ambergris was recovered from the suspect, and after testing and identification at the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute, it was handed over to the Cox's Bazar District Commissioner's office. A case has been filed against the suspect at Teknaf Model Police Station.
