Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, is the least wealthy among India's chief ministers, with assets totaling just ₹15 lakh. On the other hand, N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is the richest, with assets exceeding ₹931 crore.
The report reveals that the average assets of India's 31 chief ministers amount to ₹52.59 crore, with their total declared assets reaching ₹1,630 crore.
Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu follows Naidu with assets exceeding ₹332 crore, while Karnataka's Siddaramaiah ranks third with assets over ₹51 crore. At the lower end, Jammu and Kashmir's Omar Abdullah has assets of ₹55 lakh, making him the second least wealthy, followed by Kerala's Pinarayi Vijayan, with ₹1.18 crore in declared assets.
Pema Khandu also holds the highest liabilities among chief ministers, totaling ₹180 crore, followed by Siddaramaiah at ₹23 crore and Naidu at ₹10 crore.
The report also highlights that 42% of the chief ministers (13) face criminal cases, with 32% (10) facing serious charges, including attempted murder, bribery, and criminal intimidation.
Out of the 31 chief ministers, only two are women: Mamata Banerjee from West Bengal and Atishi from Delhi.
