Mohammad Mahfuj Alam has been appointed as the new advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the interim government. The Cabinet Division announced this decision today, Wednesday, through an official notification.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Mohammad Nahid Islam resigned from his advisory roles in both the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology. When an advisory position becomes vacant, its responsibilities are temporarily assigned to the Chief Advisor, who later reallocates them.
According to today’s Cabinet notification, the Chief Advisor of the interim government has redistributed responsibilities across various ministries and departments. It was confirmed that Mahfuj Alam has taken charge as the advisor for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, which was also vacated by Nahid Islam, will now be overseen by the Chief Advisor. Alongside his existing responsibilities for the Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defense, Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Public Administration, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus will now also handle the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.
