Titumir College students protest by blocking the road with a seven-point demand, including the college's transformation into a university.
Today, Monday, at around 12:20 PM, they began the protest by blocking the Mahakhali-Gulshan road in front of the college gate.
Eyewitnesses reported that the students placed bamboo on the road to block traffic and announced through loudspeakers that no vehicles except emergency ones would be allowed to pass until their demands were met.
One protesting student stated that although they had initially planned to start the blockade at 11 AM, the program was delayed due to the Saraswati Puja celebration on the college campus.
He added, "We will keep the road blocked until our demands are met. If more students join us, we will move towards the Mahakhali intersection."
Meanwhile, several students have been on a hunger strike in front of the Titumir College gate for the sixth consecutive day to press for their demands.
