Liverpool Star Diogo Jota Dies in Car Crash
Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota, 28, has died in a car accident on the A-52 highway in Zamora, Spain, along with his 26-year-old brother André. The crash occurred late Thursday night after their Lamborghini reportedly suffered a tyre blowout while overtaking, causing the car to catch fire.
Emergency services confirmed both deaths at the scene. The tragedy comes just two weeks after Jota married his longtime partner, Rute Cardoso.
Jota joined Liverpool in 2020, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists in 182 appearances, and was part of their Premier League-winning squad.
