BRAC University is facing legal action after receiving a notice from Barrister Md. Towfiqul Islam Khan, representing ALB Animal Shelter, over allegations of cruelty and illegal removal of campus cats. The notice accuses the university of violating the Animal Welfare Act, 2019, and the Constitution, claiming several cats were killed or went missing. The university has been given 72 hours to respond before a writ petition is filed in the Supreme Court.
