Spanish teenage football sensation Lamine Yamal has drawn significant attention after expressing solidarity with Palestine during FC Barcelona’s La Liga title celebrations.
The 18-year-old was seen waving a Palestinian flag from an open-top bus as thousands of fans filled the streets of Barcelona to celebrate the club’s victory. FC Barcelona secured their 29th La Liga title with a 2–0 win over Real Madrid, in a match that once again saw El Clásico play a decisive role in determining the league champion.
The celebrations, attended by tens of thousands of supporters, turned into a broader moment of public expression, with Yamal becoming a visible figure of solidarity. Barcelona has also been a focal point for pro-Palestinian demonstrations since the escalation of the Israel–Gaza conflict in October 2023, alongside various humanitarian aid initiatives for Gaza.
