A Dhaka court has dismissed a case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and three others regarding the deaths of 42 people during petrol bomb attacks amid the 2015 nationwide blockade and strike. The case, filed by AB Siddiqui in February 2015, accused Khaleda and others of involvement. However, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman accepted the police investigation report, which found no evidence against Khaleda, BNP leader Rafiqul Islam Mia, late Dhaka University VC Professor Emajuddin Ahmad, and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury. The case was officially dismissed on September 21, 2024.
