A protest rally took place in front of the Gazipur District Commissioner's office on Saturday, condemning the attack on students. Sarjis Alam, chief organizer of the National Citizens' Committee, criticized the authorities, saying, "The police you reinstated show up after incidents occur, just like in Bangla cinema. Why must we struggle for two hours to get them to take action? Who will ensure the safety of students and youth who shed blood and gave their lives to bring this government to power?"
He added, "Yesterday, many of our comrades were injured by them (Awami League). They are now threatening our comrades' lives. Let it be clear—those who freed Bangladesh with their blood and lives must be ensured security."
Notably, on Friday night (February 7), an attack on students in the Dhirashram area of Gazipur City Corporation left 14 injured. Reports indicate that, despite calls for help, police arrived late. In response, a day-long protest was held the next day at Rajbari Field in Gazipur.
