The 76th edition of the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the world's largest book fair, is currently underway in Frankfurt, Germany. This year, the event features over 4,300 publishing houses from more than 100 countries, marking a 7.5% increase compared to last year. The opening ceremony on October 15 saw the attendance of thousands, including politicians, authors, publishers, journalists, and human rights activists, who emphasized the vital role of books in fostering democracy. Since 2015, Bangladesh has participated in the fair with support from the Ministry of Culture, and this year, the country’s involvement is being overseen by Md. Golam Rabbi, the Commercial Counsellor at the Bangladesh Embassy in Germany. He noted that discussions are underway with fair authorities to enhance Bangladesh's presence in the future. This year's participation reflects a significant diversity compared to previous editions.
