RAB arrested the chief convener of a Sylhet rally and two Chhatra League leaders—Rakibul Hasan, 25, and Mithun Debnath, 24—on Monday night near Sylhet Kotwali police station. The arrests relate to earlier cases under the Explosives Act from September 29 and October 10. The suspects were wearing black masks and chanting 'Joy Bangla' slogans during a procession in Sylhet. Following the Awami League government's fall on August 5, many party leaders went into hiding. Despite this, a masked rally with 'Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu' banners was held in Sylhet's East Dargah Gate area yesterday morning.
