The government sought to stay the HC verdict, which, on March 10, 2020, declared "Joy Bangla" as the national slogan and ordered its use at state functions and academic assemblies. Following the Appellate Division's order, Additional Attorney General Aneek R Haque stated that "Joy Bangla" would no longer be considered the national slogan.
