Bangladesh experienced its lowest temperature of the season on Thursday, with a reading of 7.8°C recorded in Srimangal. The cold wave has intensified across the country, particularly in the northern regions. According to the Meteorological Department, the ongoing cold spell is expected to persist for several more days.
After several days without rain, weather conditions improved on Thursday, bringing daytime temperatures and easing concerns about damage to boro seedlings. However, agricultural officials warned that extreme cold may negatively affect crops, especially boro seedlings and winter vegetables, unless the temperature rises soon.
