Jamaat Won’t Force Women to Wear Burqa, Says Shafiqur Rahman

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman clarified that if his party assumes power, women will not be compelled to wear the burqa. He dismissed claims that Jamaat would make it mandatory, calling them unfounded. Shafiqur made these comments during a citizens’ meeting in Mirpur, Dhaka, organized by the Dhaka North Metropolitan Professional Council of Jamaat-e-Islami.
